Call for abstracts: COSIA Innovation Summit 2015*

The first COSIA Innovation Summit will take place on March 31 to April 2, 2015 at the Banff Springs Hotel. The Innovation Summit will provide an opportunity for COSIA member companies to showcase the good work being done within COSIA on “accelerating the pace of environmental performance improvement in the oil sands”.

COSIA’s four Environmental Priority Areas (EPAs) Greenhouse Gas, Land, Tailings and Water as well as the Monitoring Priority Area will host concurrent sessions over these three days. COSIA will also host a keynote speaker and panel discussion to complement the content of the Summit.  The event will be held biennially, allowing in-depth, EPA-specific conferences, like the recent COSIA Water Conference, to be held in alternating years.

Call for Abstracts

The planning committee is ironing out conference details and will provide additional information in the coming weeks.  The conference includes an open call for abstracts to academia, government and industry. The call is for abstracts covering greenhouse gas emission reduction technologies as well as others that have environmental benefits. If selected, presenters will be invited to either give a presentation during one of the sessions or present at the poster sessions scheduled March 31 and April 1.

“Given the quality of submissions received for the Water Conference, the content for the Innovation Summit promises to be just as compelling.” says John Brogly, Director, Water EPA for COSIA
